GUIDED TOURS

*Guided Snowmobile tours - Choose from a 1 person or 2 person snowmobile and enjoy a 2 hour excursion through the beautiful North Country, stopping at various taverns and inns for food and drink along the way.  Extended trips available for additional cost.  We'll provide the helmet, you provide the cold weather gear.

1 person sled - $200            2 person sled - $225

*Ice Fishing on the St. Lawrence River , Black Lake, or Chippewa Bay- A half day excursion.  Shacks on the ice are heated and we provide a hot chili lunch and music.  Feel free to bring along a beverage or two!  Includes a guide, all fishing equipment and bait.  $80 per person

SELF-GUIDED TOURS

*Day trip to Canada - A one hour drive north of the border to enjoy a variety of sightseeing or adventure activities.  If it's your first time in Canada, we suggest starting with the "Hop on Hop Off Bus Tour".  Maybe also consider a day of ice skating on the Rideau Canal - a beautiful frozen canal that weaves through villages with shops, restaurants and warming bonfires.  Other options include a visit to a Nordik Spa, a horsebackriding excursion or day of museum visits and pub visits through Ottawa.  A truly amazing experience!  Let us help you plan a great day!

*Dog Sled Ride & Kennel Visit - Located just 40 minutes from Claire House, Call of the Wild Kennels offers authentic sled rides in the North Country with a visit to the kennel to learn more about these amazing dogs.​

*Remington Art Museum Visit with Wine Tasting -  A two minute drive to the Frederic Remington Museum and then a visit to a local winery for some tastings and artistic discussion!

Summer Activities

*Pontoon Rental - Rent a boat and cruise the day away on the St. Lawrence River!  Drive about 40 minutes to rent a pontoon boat from Mac's boat rentals.  (Approximately $350 for a full day!).  Boats are pristine, and the river is spectacular.  Sun, swim and motor into Alexandria bay for some shopping, live music and dining in this beautiful riverside resort town.  

*Kayaking - Head over to Hosmer's Marina (about 2 minutes from Claire House) and rent some kayaks for a day on the river.  Return to Hosmer's when you're done and stay for live music, food & drinks at their restaurant, Smuggler's Cove.

*White Water Rafting - If you're feeling especially adventurous, drive to Black River (40 minutes) for a day of white water rafting.  Not for the faint of heart, but so worth it!
